MindTheGapps for Android 17 — Download & Install Guide

As custom ROMs move to Android 17, you need a matching GApps package to bring back Google services. MindTheGapps 17.0 is now available. This guide covers what's new, which package to grab, and how to flash it.

Is your ROM actually Android 17?

Only flash Android 17 GApps on an Android 17 ROM. Check Settings → About phone → Android version, or your ROM's download page. Flashing the wrong version leads to boot loops and Play Services crashes.

Which package to download

  • arm64 — for virtually all modern 64-bit devices. This is the package most people need for Android 17.
  • arm — for older 32-bit devices, when an Android 17 build exists for that hardware.

You can grab the latest Android 17.0 build directly from the download table, which links straight to the newest release file.

How to install MindTheGapps 17.0

  1. Download the Android 17.0 package for your architecture.
  2. Boot into your custom recovery (TWRP/OrangeFox or the ROM's recovery).
  3. Flash the Android 17 ROM first, then flash MindTheGapps 17.0 in the same session, before the first boot.
  4. Wipe cache/dalvik and reboot.
  5. Sign in to your Google account and open the Play Store to confirm.

Coming from Android 16?

Upgrading from an Android 16 ROM to Android 17 counts as a major version jump. Many ROMs recommend a clean flash for major upgrades — back up first, wipe, then flash the Android 17 ROM followed by MindTheGapps 17.0.

Troubleshooting

  • Play Services crashing: give the first boot several minutes, then clear Play Services data if needed.
  • Won't boot: confirm both the ROM and GApps are Android 17, then reflash together.

With the right MindTheGapps 17.0 package and the correct flashing order, your Android 17 device gets full Google services in minutes.
